Students: There are TWO parts to this assignment. 1. The case study. 2. YOUR review/feedback of someone else’s case study.
Please read the article at the link at the end of this paragraph for this assignment. This article includes information that could allude to many different ethical dilemmas. Decide upon ONE ethical dilemma of your choice–articulate the dilemma in the form of a question beginning with “Should….” (Remember that an ethical dilemma exists when there is a conflict between interests or values. There should not be a clear-cut answer that can been found by doing research.) Then take on the perspective of a libertarian and determine the ethical manner of proceeding in the dilemma you articulated. Remember that the purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate that you thoroughly understand libertarianism and are able to apply it to a case. You do not need to write the case resolution out in narrative form. You can use bullet points where appropriate–this is not an essay. You will be graded on basic writing mechanics, clarity and organization of your resolution, accuracy in explaining the method and accuracy in applying the method. (You do not represent your own opinion in this assignment, but only that of a libertarian.) NOTE: if you would like to use a case study of your own choosing, that relates more specifically to your own academic, current or future professional pursuits/dreams, then feel free to choose a different story/case study.
