Below is the answer for Matrix B1

Ethical Issue Matrix

Ethical issue: Customers’ information stored and accessed remotely by a company using cloud-computing services

Stakeholders

Confidentiality

Justice

Non-maleficence

Customers

Customers should know that their personal information should not be exposed for public access and therefore protect them from being remotely accessed (Svantesson & Clarke, 2010).

They should understand the application of measures to protect their information and make sure the risks are not subjected to them.

Customers have the mandate to respect the rights of others and make sure that their actions are not harmful to anyone despite and themselves (Svantesson & Clarke, 2010).

Company

It should ensure that customer or any other personal information is not exposed for public access or use by implementing information protection techniques.

The company should treat every information in the same way and should understand that customer information should not be risked for its benefits or performance.

A company has the duty to eliminate harmful practices such as exposing the customer information for remote access and ensure that everyone is secure and is not harmed by its business.

Cloud providers

They should ensure that the platforms that are used to host the clouds are secure and free from information and data breaches.

They should develop clouds and offer services without any form of discrimination to ensure that the consequences are equally distributed among the users (Pearson, 2009).

The services they provide should not expose anyone to any harm and should be secure from attackers that utilize personal information for their benefits (Pearson, 2009).

Other users of the cloud

They should be aware of the information security issue related to remote sharing and take the initiatives to protect their personal information.

They need to understand how services are offered and that they should be treated like their colleagues (Svantesson & Clarke, 2010).

They should not perform activities that are harmful to themselves and other users in the cloud.

Why the Dilemma

The dilemma explores the privacy issue that are promoted when cloud computing is implemented. Considering the ethical concerns associated with the practice, possible measures need to be applied. If the issue is not handled, in future enhancement of privacy would be difficult. The dilemma gives a clear image of the privacy concern and triggers the necessary actions.

Why choose the three principles

The three principles evaluate the issue effectively hence the choice. Confidentiality ensures that personal information is only access by the authorized persons. Justice promotes the application of principles and rules that promote privacy. Non-maleficence ensures that other people are considered before implementing certain strategies. The three principle have a relation with the ethical issue.

Identification of the matrix actions

The research is based on the idea that privacy should be enhanced and availed to everyone. The matrix actions were subjected to a qualitative research to ensure that adequate information is gathered. Data was acquired for each action and evaluations done before applying them. The analysis was thorough to ensure that there were no gaps left.
